global war??

Today i came out a question for myself is that possible to have a total global war in future? A total global war which is some what similar to WWII scale where one nation turn every piece of manufacturing into war material manufacturing.

What look interesting in today technology manufacturing flow is, there is not a single product that is totally designed, manufactured and assembled in one country. To design an instrumental device for war mechinery, its involved in hundred of components which are manufactured from no way or might be supplied by the hostile country. Though there are major DOD projects which specifically use domestic fabrication plant, but how precisely you can control the whole process to be totally from one country? its very very tough to do so.

today everything is going into microelectronics. Microeletronics is everywhere, including your hybrid car, your power system control in your house! 5 years down the road, microelectronics device is smart enuff to control your house power system. The hard part is, due to globalization with more and more chip making company is outsourcing its fabrication plant, linked between country ever growth stronger. An Integrated Circuit, from design to fabrication to system validation to manufacturing and packaging is performed across the globe. Nobody can survive without another. This is the power of globalization. Its shorten the world distance and the most important is its easing the possibility of total war from happened.
